Building a culture of sustainability across the UC system and aiming for carbon neutrality by 2025.
Established in 2013, the Cool Campus Challenge is a 4-week program designed to educate and motivate the campus communities across the University of California system to take simple energy-saving, waste reducing and sustainability-focused actions to lower their carbon footprint.
Here at UC Davis, all students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the Challenge as individuals or in teams, by taking action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and increase education and mindfulness about climate disruption. Each week, the challenge highlights simple actions that participants can take to help Mother Earth — like shutting off computer monitors that are not in use and taking public transportation.
