UC Davis maintains a certified report in STARS, a sustainability reporting system hosted by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). STARS is a comprehensive sustainability rating system for colleges and universities that addresses environmental, social and economic dimensions of sustainability.

Background

UC Davis has submitted a STARS report three times. Currently, we hold a Gold rating with a total score of 79.54 points.

UC Davis hopes to achieve a STARS Platinum rating by the next reporting period in 2026.

Achieving STARS Platinum

UC Davis continues to make efforts to advance our STARS rating from Gold to Platinum. Since our last STARS submission, UC Davis is continuing to sustain a healthy and resilient community, measure progress on and promote a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all, coordinate on sustainability work, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and prepare for an all-electric future.

Reaching for the STARS: Sustainability Gratitude Celebration

The report recognized and appreciated department contributions to several credits within the Engagement and Operations sections of the STARS report, and included a brainstorm of how to reach STARS Platinum.
