2021 GreenMetric Rankings: UC Davis Maintains Ranking as Most Sustainable University in North America and 5th Most Sustainable University in the World

  • UC Davis ranked #1 in North America and #5 in the World in the 2021 University of Indonesia's (UI) GreenMetric World University Rankings.

On December 14, 2021 University of Indonesia's (UI) GreenMetric shared the 2021 World University Rankings, announcing that UC Davis earned #1 in North America (for a sixth year) and #5 in the World (for a second year). In the last 11 years, UC Davis has ranked in the Top 10 World's Most Sustainable Universities.

In the most recent iteration of the questionnaire, GreenMetric included several new questions related to COVID-19 response. UC Davis implemented at least ten programs to cope with COVID-19, including Healthy Davis Together, and, along with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earned the first ever Research Response to a Community in Crisis Award issued from the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU).
