The UC Davis campus community (students, faculty and staff) are invited to take the Sustainability Culture Survey by May 12, 2023 for a chance to win one of four $125 Davis Co-op gift cards. The drawing will be held on May 17.
UC Davis Sustainability wants your opinion on our campus sustainability culture. Participate and you will be entered to win one of four $125 gift card from the Davis Food Co-op.
“Our goal is to better evaluate and improve campus sustainability outreach and activities,” said Carla Fresquez, UC Davis Sustainability engagement program manager. "While we have a good amount of student responses so far, we hope to get more feedback from them as well as from faculty and staff."
UC Davis Sustainability leads or participates in multiple ongoing engagement and outreach programs including the Fossil Fuel Free Pathway Plan, World Climate Simulation, Green Workplace, Sustainability Summit and Sustainability Champion Awards, multiple zero waste campaign efforts like their current reusable utensil campaign, and so much more.
Did you know about these sustainability programs? They want to know! In addition to gaining valuable information, this effort could also elevate our campus’s rating in other sustainability ranking systems.
“If we can get the word out about this survey, and gain valuable feedback, it helps our campus improve its STARS rating as well,” said Kelli O’Day, UC Davis Sustainability assessment program manager.
STARS is the ranking system that shows how colleges and universities address the environmental, social and economic dimensions of sustainability. The STARS assessment also feeds into other ranking metrics like the Princeton Review’s Green Honor Roll.
“While we consistently rank in top positions according to a number of external ranking systems, this survey will help us understand the awareness our programs currently have and our community’s satisfaction with them,” said Fresquez. “Plus, we’ve secured great incentive to participate!”
UC Davis Sustainability is offering participants the chance to win one of four $125 gift cards to the Davis Food Co-op. To win, fill out the survey by May 12. The drawing will be held on May 17 at the Farmers Market's new location outside the Student Community Center.
